Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider and Kevin Spade are set to star in a new comedy for Columbia Pictures.

The story is about five best friends from high school who return to the town they grew up in 30 years later and reunite on a Fourth of July weekend.

Sandler wrote the screenplay with Fred Wolf, who penned Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003) and Joe Dirt (2001). Sandler’s Happy Madison production company, which produced the recent hit Paul Blart: Mall Cop (2009), will produce the upcoming film.

The untitled comedy will be directed by Dennis Dugan, who is a frequent collaborator with Sandler. Dugan directed I Now Pronounce you Chuck and Larry (2007) and You Don’t Mess with the Zohan (2008), both starring Sandler.

All five of the actors have worked together before, but never all on the same project. Most recenttly Zohan starred Sandler and Schneider.

Shooting is expected to start in May in Boston and last about 66 days.
