Affleck up for Double Duty
Sep 17, 2008Ben Affleck is about to sign on for duties both behind the camera and in front of it, taking on the double tasks of directing and starring in a new film called The Town.
The dark heist-romance is about a high-tension love triangle between a female bank manager, a veteran thief who stole more than her heart, and an equally smitten FBI agent trying to stop the crook and his posse before they can rob again.
Affleck directed his first film, Gone Baby Gone, last year, to substantial critical acclaim. He also co-wrote that drama, adapting it from a Dennis Lehane novel. He cast his brother Casey Affleck in the lead, however.
Affleck will next be seen in the comedy He's Just Not That Into You which premiers in February. Then in April, he’ll be on the big screen again in the political thriller State of Play. He’s currently working on Extract, Mike Judge's new comedy.
