Kristen Bell is the latest to join the voice cast of the animated Astro Boy. Freddie Highmore already has the title role, and Nicolas Cage, Donald Sutherland, Nathan Lane, Bill Nighy, Eugene Levy and Matt Lucas are also on board.

The story is based in futuristic Metro City, where Astro Boy, a young robot with incredible powers, was created by a brilliant scientist in the image of the son that he lost. Since he can’t fulfill the grieving man's expectations, Astro Boy sets out on a search for acceptance, and finds a world of robot gladiators, then returns to save Metro City and reconcile with the scientist.  Bell can currently be seen in NBC’s Heroes, as well as the CW’s Gossip Girl. Upcoming films on her slate include Fanboys, Sheepish, Serious Moonlight, When in Rome and Antique.
