Could Twilight Dethrone HSM3 at the Box Office?
Nov 5, 2008Stephanie Myer’s Twilight is already causing a huge buzz, with fans accounting for 51% of Fandango’s daily tickets sales, even though the movie is still three weeks away from its Nov. 21 release.
In a recent survey done by Fandango, Twilight was voted the most anticipated film of the season. Over 5,000 moviegoers were asked to rate their level of excitement towards the book turned movie making its debut.
A total of 92 percent of people surveyed said they will see Twilight on opening weekend, with 85% of them planning on seeing it more than once. A total of 97 percent have read the novel, and 95% of respondents were female. And although The Twilight series is categorized in the teen genre, 42% of people surveyed were 25 and older; 58% were younger than 25.
Twilight is the first of the four book series that follows Bella Swan through high school as she unknowing encounters her true love, Edward, who is also a vampire. She is then left struggling to remain human in a world that is anything but.
