From Pirates to BioShock
Aug 4, 2008And now, from Gore Verbinski, the same guy who brought you all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies, comes BioShock, a special effects-heavy tentpole set in a mysterious underwater utopia named Rapture. Verbinski will both produce and direct the film, based on a popular video game by 2k Games.
This is the first project in a three-year, first look deal Verbinski just signed with Universal Pictures. In addition to the Pirates movies for Disney, Verbinski has also directed films for DreamWorks, including The Ring, The Weather Man with Nicolas Cage, The Mexican, starring Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts, and 1997's Mouse Hunt.
