Hilary Duff is joining Winona Ryder, Sean Astin, Chevy Chase and Jon Cryer in the new Polish brothers comedy Stay Cool. The shoot will be anything but cool, however – it starts in July in California’s steamy Santa Clarita.

Rather than a “coming of age” comedy, Stay Cool is described as a "knowing-your-age comedy," about a successful author (Mark Polish) who finds himself face-to-face with an unrequited high school love (Ryder) when he returns home to deliver a graduation speech for his alma mater. Duff takes on the role of Shasta O'Neil, a sexy high school student who flirts with the visiting author and invites him to the senior prom.

Duff can currently be seen in the political satire War, Inc. opposite John Cusack. Next up for her are the films Safety Glass and Greta which have already wrapped.
