Hot off the success of his latest film, Sex and the City, writer/director/producer Michael Patrick King has signed a deal with DreamWorks that gives the studio first look rights to his upcoming projects. Sex and the City was produced and released by New Line.

While a sequel to King's latest film is a slam dunk (but hasn’t yet been announced), he is reported to have already outlined a film that will be a "deconstructed" romantic comedy. Although he wrote what could be considered a definitive ending for the girls of Sex and the City, he says he hasn’t ruled out another film featuring their further exploits. Look for an announcement regarding the development of that film within the next three months.
