Alfred Molina has beencast alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, Gemma Arterton and Ben Kingsley in Disney's The Prince of Persia, the Mike Newell-directed adaptation of the Ubisoft fantasyaction game.  The actor, perhaps best knownfor his work in Spiderman 2 and Frida, will play Sheik Amar, who becomes a mentor to the prince.

The story revolves around a fearless prince who teams up with a rival princess against an evil ruler, who wants to destroy the world with a cataclysmic sandstorm. 
Shooting is slated to begin in July in the U.K. and Morocco.  Jerry Bruckheimer is producing. Molina currently stars the inFox pilot Courtroom K, directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. He also completed Overture's Humble Park with John Leguizamo and Debra Messing, and stars in Nick Hornby’s An Education alongside Emma Thompson and Peter Sarsgaard.
