Nicolas Cage and director John Carpenter are about to team up on a scary movie of the different nature – this one is called Scared Straight, and follows a troubled youth who is sent to prison via a special crime prevention program, and while he’s there a riot breaks out and he’s held hostage. Cage will play the prisoner who’s in for life and tried to help the teen. Work on the prison thriller is slated to begin this October.

It's a wonder he can fit it in. Cage has a heavy slate of films in production, pre and post, including Knowing (2009) G-Force (2009), Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009), Astro Boy (2009), The Ghost (2009), Amarillo Slim (2009), Electric God (2009) and The Dance (2010).
