Phillip Seymour Hoffman Gets Claymated
Oct 1, 2008Philip Seymour Hoffman has joined Tony Collette for the title roles in the voice cast of an Australian claymation film entitled Mary and Max. This will mark feature-length film debut writer-director Adam Elliot and producer Melanie Coombs, who won the 2003 short-film Oscar for Harvie Krumpet.
Aussie Barry Humphries will narrate, and Eric Bana will also lend his voice, as will singers Renee Geyer "Molly" Meldrum, along with Julie Forsyth and John Flaus. They will tell the story of pen pals -- one living in Australia, the other in the U.S. -- whose friendship grows over 20 years. The project is described as an animated film for adults.
