Universal has finally picked a release date for Sacha Baron Cohen’s next project, another semi-reality spoof called Bruno. In the same spirit as Borat, people actually believe they’re being interviewed by a flamboyant fashion and celebrity journalist from Austria. Bruno is one of three characters Baron Cohen created for Da Ali G Show.

The release date is May 15, 2009, and so far, there are no other R-rated comedies being released near the same time, although Sony's Angels and Demons, the prequel to Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code, is slated to open the same weekend. The month of May is actually considered summer in studio lingo.
