With Mamma Mia! taking the box office by storm, Meryl Streep has never been more in demand. She’s currently finishing up negotiations to play the female lead in an untitled romantic comedy about a woman involved in a romantic triangle with two men.

Nancy Meyers, who made Something’s Gotta Give and The Holiday, will direct and produce, along with Scott Rudin. Cameras are slated to start rolling in February.

Meanwhile, Streep will next be seen with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams in Doubt, which opens Dec. 12. She also recently wrapped Nora Ephron’ s Julie and Julia, in which she lays Julia Child — that’s scheduled for an April 2009 release. At the moment, Streep is doing voice work in the stop-motion animated The Fantastic Mr. Fox, which is an adaptation of a popular Roald Dahl novel.
