While Aaron Eckhart opens this week as Harvey Dent/Two-Face in The Dark Knight, another character with a similar name is making news. Will Farrell has signed on to play the title role in a film that’s actually called Two Face. But it’s a face of a different color: the film is about a racist who develops a split personality after a prank goes wrong.

Sony Pictures Entertainment is behind the film, which Ferrell has been considering for about three years. The project suddenly gained momentum after Two Face writer Vince Gilligan got a major hit with Hancock.

Ferrell’s next project is Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, written by Ethan Cohen and co-starring Sacha Baron Cohen. Producers hope to slip in Two Face early next year, before cameras start rolling on the Sherlock Holmes film.
